ONTARIO’S BIG-CITY MAYORS’ CONGRATULATE PRIME MINISTER-ELECT JUSTIN TRUDEAU AND THE LIBERAL PARTY OF CANADA

 

The Ontario Big City Mayors’ congratulate Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party for winning the federal election.

The Liberal Party championed an urban agenda and the issues that touch the day to day lives of our residents such as transit, infrastructure, and housing. These issues are at the core of the Ontario’s Big City Mayors’ agenda.

“I want to congratulate Prime Minister Elect Trudeau on running a campaign that inspired Canadians.  As Ontario’s Big City Mayors’, we are hugely encouraged by the Liberal Party’s platform of infrastructure investment, which is based on true collaboration with municipalities, and vows to address the critical issues facing our communities such as affordable housing.  Canada’s cities will now have a true partner on Parliament Hill.  We look forward to building better cities together” said Mayor Jeff Lehman, Chair of LUMCO.

The Ontario’s Big City Mayors’ acknowledge everyone who ran for office. As Mayors, we understand the courage it takes to put their name forward and the effort to run an election campaign. We also want to thank all Ontarians who cast a ballot and made their voices heard.

We look forward to a true collaboration and partnership with the newly elected Liberal Government in working together to move forward with the urban agenda.
